2、Chen Tuan’s Hometown Scenic Area
Recommended reason: The hometown of Taoist master Chen Tuan, climb mountains and visit ancient sites, check in in front of the “Sleeping Fairy” statue, and experience Taoist culture.

3、Tongnan Big Buddha Temple
Recommended reason: The seventh largest golden Buddha in the world and the largest in China, with a total height of 18.43 meters. The cliff carvings and temple architecture complement each other.

4、Chongkan Rapeseed Flower Sea
Recommended reason: One of the most beautiful rapeseed fields in China, with thousands of acres of golden flowers every spring, and Tai Chi patterns and Chen Tuan statues forming land art.
Holy land for filming: Take a hot air balloon to overlook, the effect is comparable to Türkiye!
Tongnan Travel Tips
- Transportation
External transportation:
High-speed rail: Chongqing West Station/North Station→Tongnan Station (about 1 hour), 10 minutes by taxi to the city.
Self-driving: Chongqing Main City→Yu-Su Expressway→Tongnan (about 1.5 hours).
Internal transportation:
Bus: There are tourist lines between scenic spots (such as Shuangjiang Ancient Town and Dafo Temple).
Shared electric vehicles: Convenient travel within the city, 3 yuan/20 minutes.

Itinerary suggestion (2 days and 1 night)
Day1: Tongnan Dafo Temple→Shuangjiang Ancient Town (lunch ancient town snacks)→Canal cycling→Binjiang Road dinner (Tai’an fish).
Day2: Chen Tuan’s hometown (you can change to Guilinba picking if it is not the flower season)→Taste authentic Tai’an fish in Tai’an Town→Return.

March-April: peak season for rapeseed flowers;
May-October: picking fruits and vegetables, canal scenery; Autumn and winter: few people and quiet scenery, suitable for cultural tours.
Precautions
There are a lot of people during the rapeseed flower season: it is recommended to go on weekdays and avoid the weekend peak.
Etiquette of Dafo Temple: No photography is allowed in the temple, keep quiet.
Sun protection and mosquito prevention: Sun protection hats and mosquito repellent are required in the rural scenic area.
Specialty purchase: Canned yellow peaches and dried lemons (Tongnan is the main lemon production area in Chongqing) are recommended to be purchased in regular supermarkets.
